The information we receive was originally submitted contemplating this transfer to B17, and was collected pursuant to a disclosure that any information submitted, including sensitive health information, would not be kept confidential (the “Initial Information”). Whether information is submitted directly to B17 or comes to us through the Initial Information process, (collectively “Information”) this information will not be returned or kept confidential. All such Submissions may be used on the Website, for broadcast or other publication by B17 or any of its affiliated companies, broadcast licensees, entities or assigns, including, but not limited to the show, “Chasing the Cure” various television and digital networks, and distributed in all markets and media worldwide and in perpetuity (“Production/s”). By accessing the Website and providing Initial Information (which is transferred to us) or any Information, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions and consent to the possibility that your Information may be published, distribution and/or broadcast of your Information.

Your Information may be shared with producers of Chasing the Cure, shared with legal authorities along with related programming entities without any compensation to you or liability to them. The submission of the Information becomes the property of B17 and will not be returned.

THE INFORMATION WE RECEIVE AND COLLECT

We receive Information that is directly provided to us, such as personal information you provide when you visit CTCLC, information you provide directly to CTC Producers and or CTC PPT members. This information often includes personal identification information such as name, phone number and address, as well as medical history and test results in relation to your ailment or illness. We will use this information for the Productions, as defined herein, and for other purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.

In furtherance of the Productions, we may contact you directly to collect additional Information, which shall be digitally stored and kept in accordance with this Privacy Policy. You may also be assigned a direct show contact who will be working with you. For your safety, we do not collect, receive, nor will we ever ask for credit card information or payment information of any kind via phone or through the website, as related to the Production. If your story is chosen and your image or name is listed on a Site or episode, you may be the target of unscrupulous actions by others, who may try to contact you using publicly available information about you, and solicit money. Please know that no one affiliated with B17 will ever contact you and solicit money or require you to submit a credit card. If you are solicited by anyone representing to be a member of the Chasing The Cure Live team and or B17 entertainment while requesting personal credit card or payment information, please disregard such request, hang up, and alert your direct show contact and/or email privacy@b17entertainment.com.

We may also collect information from public/non-private sources, including information you may have posted on other sites, including social media sites or other medical sites where you have posted content. We may combine this information with the Information we have to create a more robust profile of you.

INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE TO US

In addition to receiving Information from affiliate sources that you have provided pursuant to disclosures and an understanding that the information would be made publicly, you may also provide information directly to use through the CTCLC website. You can register, make a case file, vote in polls or otherwise express an opinion, subscribe to one of our services such as our online newsletters or text message alerts, or participate in one of our online forums or communities.     Respond to your inquiries of any kind.
  3. Notify you if you are being considered for an on-air broadcast.
  4. Provide various legal documents to you relating to further use of your Information.
  5. Provide updates to you on the filming or production of content involving your or your medical information.
  6. Contact you via email (or via text/phone with your prior express written permission) to communicate with you about other products, programs, or services we believe may be of interest to you.

If you do provide us with your mobile phone number, you will be given the opportunity to expressly opt in to receiving text messages and/or automated calls relating to special offers and promotions we believe may be of interest to you (“Commercial Messages”). At any time, you may expressly opt out of receiving these Commercial Messages by texting STOP to any message you receive. You will be immediately unsubscribed from receiving Commercial Messages, but you still may receive information messages to your mobile phone.

  2. To on-staff and third party healthcare providers, doctors, specialists or Partners that we have engaged to perform in depth medical analysis on both a patient’s ailment as well as their physical and mental capacity to appear on a live television broadcast.
  3. In response to legal process, for example, in response to a court order or a subpoena, a law enforcement or government agency’s request or similar request.
  4. With third parties in order to investigate, prevent, or take action (in our sole discretion) regarding potentially illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to any person, us, or the Services, or violations of our policies, the law or our terms of use, and to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our Services.
  5. We may transfer some or all of your Information if we, or one of our business units, undergoes a business transition, like a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or part of our assets, or if a substantial portion of our or of a business unit’s assets is sold or merged in this way.
