As Seen On

EXTRACTED IS FOX’S HIGHEST-RATED DEBUT IN OVER A YEAR

From B17 Entertainment in partnership with Sylvester Stallone and Balboa Productions, 14 amateur survivalists are abandoned alone in the wilderness with only the clothes on their backs. Their loved ones are miles away at a high-tech headquarters, and able to watch their every move live, as they compete to send in life-saving supplies. If they hit the Extraction Button, their survivalist is immediately rescued, but they lose out on a chance to win a quarter of a million dollar prize. How far would you push your family for a quarter of a million dollars?

Technological Achievement

This was achieved through pioneering technology described by our Head of Extraction, here. The show utilizes a whopping 176 cameras – that’s more than this year’s Superbowl. Couple that with 100 audio feeds, all being delivered via 8 miles of fiber integration without latency to the screens in HQ.

HQ was also fabricated from scratch on the other side of the forest. In addition to living quarters for dozens of family members, HQ featured more than 30 screens showcasing unique content of what was happening in the field. Those screens also fed them information about the status of their loved ones, weather reports, and challenge information in real time from the control truck.

New Twist in Survival Genre

Extracted is — at its core — two shows in one: a survival series and a house reality show that both interplay with one another. Because the family members in HQ are watching their loved ones in real time, this necessitated something never seen before: what is essentially a 24/7 live broadcast of survival.
